It’s Hot – A Poem by Grade 2U
In Summer, it’s so hot,
That I’m covered with sweat.
The heat is so extreme, that bird’s can’t fly,
And they feel as though they are going to die.
It’s so hot and shrill,
That you can’t ride a bike uphill.
When we are at school,
The air conditioner makes us cool.
Animals are so thirsty,
Let’s give them water quickly.
It’s so hot at school,
That we feel like going to the pool.
It seems our clothes are stuck,
Wish we had icy poles to suck.
The sun is just overhead,
Which makes us dread.
It’s so hot and stuffy,
That it makes us sleepy.
It’s so hot,
That we feel our throat dry with thirst.
The heat makes us tan,
I wish we had a fan.
The air is so dry,
The birds can hardly fly.
We love the beach,
And enjoy to fish.
Picnic is fun,
We did enjoy the heat of the sun.
