Teaching Practice
I was placed in Sandringham Primary School, grade 3S for my first teaching round practicum.
There was an Interactive Board in the class and the students used it to mark their attendance. There were two computers and one printer in the class and the children did different activities in turns on the computer and printed out their work, colored them beautifully and hung them in the classroom. The children had play based lessons in Literacy, Numeracy and Science. The children enjoyed their group work and loved being on the guest chair sharing their opinions with the class. The children played, worked, discussed and enjoyed every class. It was interesting to see them in different settings within the class - sometimes on the floor, sometimes on the tables and sometimes on the ground. The children were very adorable and disciplined. I enjoyed my every moment with them. It was surprising to see these students making a photo story about Australia.
The technical knowledge that I had gained from our Technology class helped me a lot in guiding the students with their computer related work. All in all, it was a joyous experience and I thoroughly enjoyed my stint at the Sandringham Primary School.
- Mrs. Lorraine Sherwin was the class teacher.
- There were eleven girls in the class -Maddy, Bella, Poppy, Milly, Livvy, Ellie, Georgie, Laura, Ali, Casey and Emma, and
- There were nine boys in the class - Marcus, Noah, Liam, Rees, Joel, Hugo, Thomas, Devan and William.
